Matthews Steer appoints new Associate
North West Melbourne’s premier accountancy and advisory firm, Matthews Steer, announced the promotion of Matt Caruso to Associate in July, increasing the firm’s executive team to five partners and three associates.
A Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce from La Trobe University, Matt also holds a Diploma of Financial Planning, is an authorized representative of Australian Unity Personal Financial Services Ltd, and has worked at Matthews Steer for eight years.
“Matt’s delivery-focused approach and exemplary work ethic have enabled him to form excellent relationships with our Private Wealth clients,” said Matthews Steer CEO Ken Matthews. “His background in business services and tax compliance equip him to take an holistic approach to our clients’ financial affairs, providing them with a one stop shop for taxation and financial planning services.
“Culturally, Matt proactively promotes a positive management culture and he’s blazing a trail for other members of the team who want to provide combined tax advisory and financial services for our clients.”
Matt provides advice on investments, insurance, compliance and business planning – on a business and personal level – analyzing Matthews Steer clients’ current status, their goals, and strategies for achieving those goals, and providing peace of mind around their financial affairs.
Founded on family and community values, Matthews Steer is focused on building client relationships and investing in the professional development of its staff staff. Over the past 27 years the firm has evolved from a one-man practice to the current team of nearly 50 staff.
“Matt’s holistic approach to client servicing is consistent with the Matthews Steer ethos, providing a one-stop shop for taxation and financial planning services,” said Ken. “His promotion to Associate is an integral part of the firm’s succession planning strategy.”
