Xero: Big, beautiful accounting software innovations, 2015 & beyond
An ensemble presentation by some of Xero’s key product development staff, Xerocon’s ‘Product Spotlight’ session focused on product innovations and initiatives with automation, mobile solutions and big useful data the focus.
Key Xero product developments include:
Apple Watch app: Xero is developing an app for Apple Watch that will provide notifications of bank feeds being imported to Xero, in addition to many other pieces of useful data. The app is due out in September.
Xero Me: Xero has just released the Xero Me app for employees of business using Xero. This allows them to easily access their pay slips, update their timesheets and lodge leave requests.
Assurance Dashboard: Xero is developing an ‘assurance dashboard’ that will provide data on users who have logged in (including traffic heat maps and pages visited), bank accounts (deleted/added transactions) and suppliers (duplicated bank accounts, etc). The assurance dashboard will provide an extra layer of integrity to data and help support validity in Xero’s financial web, reassuring clients that their data in Xero is correct and has not been tampered with.
Gmail Work: Xero has partnered with Gmail to enable all correspondence with customers and suppliers to be linked directly to individual contacts within Xero.
Auto Reminders: Xero functionality that allows clients to set up and issue automated invoice payment reminders prior to – and post – due date to customers. This enhancement will help clients with debt collection and increase the value of their working capital.
Billable Expenses: Xero functionality that enables clients to mark certain transactions as billable transactions, which when invoicing easily identifies fees which can be passed on to the customer.
