Associate / General Manager

Catherine joined Matthews Steer in 2007 bringing more than 20 years management and administrative experience to a newly developed strategic role to manage the day-to-day operations of the business. Her position has responsibility for planning the internal and external operations of the business and measuring the performance and results in line with the firm’s strategic direction. Catherine’s operational management skills have provided valuable assistance to Matthews Steer clients, especially in times of transition and growth.

Catherine’s experience includes 7 years as a Director in a consulting business offering process improvement and change implementation across a wide range of both government and private enterprises.

Prior to this Catherine had moved from the UK to Sydney to manage the day-to-day operations of a risk consultancy across Australia and New Zealand. This also included a role within a specialist team set up by the Victorian government to build a Safety Case Assessment Framework for major hazard facilities following the tragic incident at the Longford gas plant in 1998.

Catherine also enjoys her role as mentor to Victoria University students, helping with their transition from university life into the expectations of a working environment.
