Matthews Steer takes clients ‘Behind The Screens’
Matthews Steer’s annual Private Wealth event gave attendees a peek “behind the screens” of Generations Y and Z.
Keynote speaker, Claire Madden, who is Australia’s foremost expert on intergenerational engagement, provided insight into the post-Millennial generations’ approach to wealth, work-life balance and decision making, and offered strategies and techniques for reconciling these differing expectations and approaches.
Madden shared tips for improving communication channels, engaging up-coming generations in the family business, sharing stories of wealth generation, and involving them in succession planning.
And she highlighted the current distribution of wealth across the generations, the new realities for lifestyle spend, asset allocation and intergenerational wealth transfer as the Baby Boomer generation approaches retirement.
Matthews Steer’s head of Private Wealth, Anthony Flapper, provided attendees with some insights into the recent Federal Budget, highlighting that the $20k asset write-off has been extended to June 30 for SME, enabling them to purchase assets valued at less than $20k for an immediate tax write-off.
