Boost for caravan businesses
Matthews Steer was proud to support the Caravan Industry Association – Victoria’s (CIAV) at their 2020 Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow in February.
Matthews Steer’s head of property, transport and caravanning, Adrian Misiano, was front and centre at the event’s exhibitor function, presenting awards to this year's stand winners, and speaking to attendees about the AusIndustry Entrepreneurs Program (EP) Business Growth Grant.
The EP assists Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to develop the skills, knowledge and capability to realise their growth potential. SMEs that meet the grant’s eligibility criteria can apply for a Business Growth Grant to make specific business improvements.
Successful applicants receive co-funding of up to $20,000 towards engaging a consultant to assist them to improve their businesses across a raft of functional areas including financial management, business strategy, marketing, branding and communications, and environmental sustainability.

Misiano says he’s delighted with the way Matthews Steer’s partnership with the CIAV has evolved over the past year.
“There’s a perception that the caravan industry is in decline, but it’s been encouraging to see so many CIAV members taking the opportunity to consult with us on ways they can improve. their businesses,” said Misiano.
“We see great opportunities within the industry, and we offer a wide range of innovative, results-driven business services that provide support in strategic planning, corporate governance, financial analysis, and grant applications, that are designed to grow businesses, improve profitability, and transform profit into personal wealth.
“The tools that we use, and our track record in the transport and manufacturing industries, makes us a great fit for the CIAV,” he said.
This is the second year Matthews Steer has supported the event – Australia’s premier outdoors show – at Melbourne Showgrounds. The show provides the opportunity for lovers of the great outdoors to see the breadth of products and services the caravan, camping and touring industry has to offer.
The team at Matthews Steer is currently offering members of the CIAV their Risk Health Check – which identifies business risks, establishes eligibility for available government grants, and assists in developing risk mitigation strategies – for the discounted price of $1,500, a saving of $1,000.
