When too much chocolate is never enough
Following a socially distanced 12 months, the Matthews Steer team was delighted to welcome clients, colleagues and network contacts to Hyatt Place to network in person at the return of our Success Stories Breakfast series in March.
John Grisold, a founder of Chocolatier, a 100 per cent owned manufacturer of exquisite European-style chocolates, was our first breakfast guest for 2021. Speaking to a room of 190 guests, and 40 virtual attendees (via live stream), Grisold shared his candid and entertaining insights into the evolution of his business from its humble beginnings in Melbourne’s North to a brand known and loved Australia-wide.
Carlo Meneguzzi of the North and West Melbourne Data Analytics Hub shared insights on the power of data analysis to post-COVID businesses and took breakfast attendees through two case studies where insights provided by The Hub have provided Melbourne businesses with game-changing knowledge about their business, customers and markets.
Breakfast guests also received an update on government grants from our Manager, Corporate Advisory, Tristan Glennon, who outlined a new Victorian Government funding program which includes capital equipment grants of up to $500,000 on a 25% basis. This up-coming capex grant will target companies looking to take their business to the next level through best in class production capabilities (including automation and robotics), introduction of new products to market, entry to new markets (particularly exports) and job creation and workforce upskilling.

It was great to see so many - in person and virtually - at our first Success Stories Breakfast for 2021 and we look forward to continuing our program of events as the year progresses. If you are interested in attending Matthews Steer future business networking events, please email or events team.
