Matthews Steer Night of Nights!

Daniel Trifunovic has been named Matthews Steer Employee of the Year at our annual RER (Recognise, Encourage, Reward) Gala Awards night at the RACV Club Melbourne.

Daniel joined Matthews Steer in 2018 as a Graduate and quickly rose through the ranks of our Wealth Advisory team whilst furthering his studies. Following his promotion to Financial Advisor last year Daniel has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to providing outstanding service to our clients, as well as dedicating his time to supporting the growth of his peers and the business.

CEO David Reid says “Daniel’s drive to further himself and the business while consistently building strong relationships with new and existing clients clearly represents who we are at Matthews Steer”.

Daniel actively seeks out new opportunities, he has a strong client focus as well as supporting the growth of his peers” adds Head of Wealth Advisory, and Partner, Christine Brown.

This year’s Contribution to Culture was awarded to Petra Stagno Navarra, who was promoted to Admin Team Leader earlier this year. COO Catherine Duncan says “Petra goes above and beyond in navigating complex issues towards a solution. Her sustained optimism in getting us there is invaluable.”

Partner, Adrian Misiano, who celebrated 25 years with Matthews Steer this year, took home the Contribution to Community Award. “While Adrian regularly contributes to the community, this year it was his organising of the Charity Car Show fundraising event that we’re here to recognise” said Partner, Charith Mandadige, when presenting the award.

Incredibly impacted by what fellow Partner at Matthews Steer, Richard Wraith, went through, and with an understanding that suicide is on the rise among young people, Adrian wanted to do his part to raise awareness as well as funds for the cause Amber’s White Light.

“This award is a reminder that we have an opportunity to set an example to follow, that contributing to community is not just about a financial donation but is the concerted effort we show in supporting our community and empowering others to serve in their mission.”

Benjamin Tripicchio was awarded Most Significant Personal Growth for his clear commitment to his professional development. Joining the firm two years ago, Ben has also managed his undergraduate studies while working part-time with the firm. Set to finish his studies this year, Ben noted how valuable the learning opportunity and mentorship he has received at Matthews Steer has been for him.

“Ben doesn’t hesitate to jump in and participate, taking every opportunity to learn and grow,” said Associate, Anthony Seneca, on the night. Ben is also a valuable member of our Vibe Club, running (and leading) the footy tipping competition this year.

Finally, our Rising Star award went to two individuals this year – Emma McKendry and Jerrick Lay, who coincidently both started with firm as Graduates on the same day 2 years ago.

“The Rising Star Award is not something we present lightly,” says David Reid. “It is only awarded when someone has made a significant enough impression to be recognised – by both their peers and the executive team.”

As an Intermediate Accountant, Emma has a willingness and aptitude for learning and growth, not only within her own career but for helping those around her. Her contributions to the business, our clients, and the people who work here are numerous. She has also made an immense contribution to the culture at Matthews Steer, leading our Vibe club in planning many successful events for the team.

Jerrick quickly developed his technical knowledge in our Wealth Advisory team and was promoted to Paraplanner after a year. Professional, confident, and willing to learn – no task is out of reach for Jerrick. In his short time with Matthews Steer, he has contributed to the ongoing improvement of processes, while demonstrating a clear ability to represent the Matthews Steer ethos.

We also celebrated Career Path Awards for Diane Jones, George Madi, Nicholas Kyratzis, and Xia Kong on the night, recognising their recent promotions.

Congratulations to each of our winners and contributors who make Matthews Steer the thriving workplace and business that we have here today.
